Allamanda


Description: A soft yellow-colored flower with narrow leaves.

Location: Growing along fences and walls; mostly found on HorseClan territory.

Usage/Effect: Petals are fed to patients to relieve heartburn. Leaves are rubbed on the bottom of feet to soothe cracked pawpads.

Almond Tree


Description: A small tree with green nuts growing from it.

Location: Anywhere with hardy, moist soil.

Usage/Effect: Nuts themselves are crushed up and fed to cats to soothe mild stomachaches. Leaves can be eaten to cure low-grade fevers.

Amaryllis Barbados Lily

Description:
A red, pointed flower with a green middle.
Location:
In tropical, warmer weather.
Usage/Effect:
Petals are mushed into a pulp and applied to cuts to reduce risk of infections. Can also be used to mask the scent of death.

Anthurium

Description: A red, cup-like flower with a pointed, protruding middle.
Location: Best grown in humid conditions, shielded from high amounts of sunlight and wind.
Usage/Effect: Middles can be put into ears to cure ear infections. Stems can be used to tie tourniquets around ligaments to cut off circulation.

Banana Blossom


Description: A purple-gray, bulbous blossom with small yellow flowers growing from the top.

Location: Grows on banana trees; being a hardy, tropical plant, almost everywhere.

Usage/Effect: Petals can be chewed to cure mouth infections.


Banana Tree


Description: A narrow, layered plant with green/yellow fruit growing from it.

Location: Being a hardy, tropical plant, almost everywhere.

Usage/Effect: Bark can be chewed to cure toothaches. Ripened fruit can be eaten with medicines to help improve taste.

Banyan Bark


Description: Long strands of flowing bark that can be stripped easily.

Location: In sunny, moist areas with little to no shade; best found on VolcanoClan territory.

Usage/Effect: Bark can be eaten to help with mild stomachaches and/or mild coughs.

Beach Naupaka

Description: Small bunches of leaves with tiny white flowers.
Location: On beaches; only found on ShoreClan territory.
Usage/Effect: Flowers can be eaten to cure deadly coughs, such as greencough and blackcough.
Beech Leaves

Description: Broad, serrated leaves.
Location: Any soil that is not waterlogged.
Usage/Effect: Can be bound together and used to carry smaller bundles of herbs.
Bindweed

Description: A plant with wrinkled leaves and white, trumpet-shaped flowers.
Location: Grows almost anywhere.
Usage/Effect: Fastens sticks to broken ligaments to keep them in place.
Bird of Paradise

Description: A brightly colored, odd looking flower.
Location: Almost any moist area.
Usage/Effect: Petals can be eaten by queens to produce a stronger flow of milk, but cannot give non-nursing she-cats milk.
Blackberry Leaves

Description: Prickly, red-tinged leaves growing on a blackberry list.
Location: Almost everywhere.
Usage/Effect: Eases the swelling of bee stings.

Black-Eyed Susan


Description: A cartoony orange flower with a distinctive black middle.

Location: In grassy, sunny areas with other flowers, but not near trees.

Usage/Effect: Middles can be eaten to help with depression.

Blue Ginger


Description: A plant with clusters of small, bright blue-violet flowers and magenta stems.

Location: Grows best in well-shaded areas with lots of nourishing, moist soil.

Usage/Effect: Flowers can be set on closed eyes to help heal vision. Stems can be eaten to help with weak bones, mostly used for weaker kits.

Bougainvillea

Description: Large, hardy bushes with lots of orange, yellow, purple, and pink flowers; also has thorns.
Location: Grows best in hot, dry areas; mostly found on VolcanoClan territory.
Usage/Effect: Flowers can be mushed into a pulp and applied to wounds to prevent infection from spreading; does not heal infection once it has already settled in.
Breadfruit Tree

Description: A tree with wide, separate leaves and small green fruits.
Location: Grows best in sand or other non-moist soils.
Usage/Effect: Inside of the fruit can be eaten to help with undernourishment. Leaves can be used to wrap larger bundles of herbs.

Burdock Root


Description: A thick root growing from a tall-stemmed thistle.

Location: Areas with dry soil.

Usage/Effect: Lessens and heals the pain from rat bites.

Canna

Description: Bright yellow flowers with orange spots. Can also be orange with bright yellow spots.
Location: In wet forest areas; mostly found on JungleClan territory.
Usage/Effect: Seeds can be eaten to give a cat extra strength.
Catmint

Description: A leafy, purple-flowered plant with a strong, sweet scent.
Location: Only grows in HorseClan territory along the side of the house.
Usage/Effect: Leaves are best remedy for deadly coughs, such as greencough or blackcough; can also be used to calm cats.
Chamomile

Description: Small white flowers with large, fuzzy, golden centers, mostly grown in bunches.
Location: Only grows in HorseClan territory along the side of the house.
Usage/Effect: Whole flower and stem are eaten to strengthen to heart and soothe the mind.
Cigar Flowers

Description: Small, tube-shaped flowers.
Location: Best grown in dry soils or sand.
Usage/Effect: Flowers can be eaten to soothe stiff joints.
Cobwebs

Description: Thin, delicate webs made by spiders.
Location: Almost anywhere; commonly found on plants or in corners of dens.
Usage/Effect: Placed on bleeding areas to soak up blood; also used to wrap broken wounds as a cast.
Coconut Tree

Description: A long tree with fuzzy, brown fruit growing near the top.
Location: In sand on the beach; only found in ShoreClan territory.
Usage/Effect: Milk inside coconut can be trickled into the eyes to help with infections. Coconut itself can be halved and used as a storage bowl for other herbs.
Coffee

Description: Lower quality beans are a yellowish color, higher quality beans are deep red.
Location: Best grown in shady, lukewarm climates.
Usage/Effect: Beans can be eaten to give a cat energy; must not be given to kits or young apprentices.

Coral Plant


Description: Strange clusters of coral-like flowers grown from a bush; sometimes produces green nut-like fruits.

Location: Best grown in direct sunlight with sand, moist or rocky soil.

Usage/Effect: Flowers can be chewed into a pulp and applied to wounds to reduce inflammation.

Crown Flower


Description: Small, star-shaped, purple-gray flowers with a soft, fuzzy surface; produces a milky sap.

Location: Best grown in shaded areas; can thrive in dry or wetter places.

Usage/Effect: Sap can be dripped into the mouth to numb a shore throat; too much can be poisonous, so a cat must be careful when using this remedy.

Dandelion

Description: A yellow-flowered plant with lots of petals and a hollow stem.
Location: Almost everywhere; a very hardy and common plant.
Usage/Effect: Petals can be chewed to act as a painkiller, or stems can be chewed to a paste and applied to beestings to relieve pain.
Elephant's Ear

Description: A huge, leafy plant with thick stems, often grown in large bunches.
Location: Thrive in rich, extremely moist soil, away from strong winds; mostly found on JungleClan territory.
Usage/Effect: Leaves can be chewed into a pulp and applied to scrapes to quicken recovery and relieve pain.
Croton

Description: A plant with thick, broad, vibrant leaves.
Location: Best grown in warm, not hot, climates with partial sunlight and humid soil.
Usage/Effect: Leaves can be used to hold bundles of herbs; stems can be chewed to a pulp and applied to areas to draw out poison.

Cup of Gold


Description: A distinctive golden flower with black stripes.

Location: Thrives in humid climates; mostly found on JungleClan territory.

Usage/Effect: Flowers are chewed to a pulp and applied to areas to relieve itchiness.

Dock


Description: A small, gray-green plant with curly leaves.

Location: Is grown best in leafy areas with other vegetation.

Usage/Effect: Can be rubbed on scratches to soothe pain, but stings when applied.

Eucalyptus


Description: Tall trees with colorful bark and long, thin leaves that produce an oily sap.

Location: Lives best in extremely moist soil with little to no other vegetation.

Usage/Effect: Oily sap can be dripped onto pelt to soothe itchiness of the skin and give fur a glossier appearance; is poisonous if eaten.

Evening Primrose

Description: Golden flowers that bloom at sunset, and turn red and fall off at night.
Location: Almost everywhere.
Usage/Effect: Golden blossoms can be eaten and used to help with shakiness.

Fennel


Description: A plant with thin, wispy leaves and a thick stem.

Location: Found mostly in dry soils or in sand.

Usage/Effect: Stalks can be broken and juice is squeezed into the mouth to reduce pain in the hips.

Firecracker Plant

Description: A shrub with small, red, tubular flowers; sometimes mistaken for Cigar Flowers.
Location: Grows best in mild sunlight and damp or dry soil.
Usage/Effect: Flowers can be eaten to reduce body temperatures for cats with fevers or chills.
Fuchsia

Description: Beautiful, drooping, vibrant purple and pink flowers; may also be pink and white.
Location: Grows best in damp areas with lots of other vegetation.
Usage/Effect: Flowers can be eaten to soothe headaches or migraines.
Galphimia Glauca

Description: A small shrub with tiny, yellow clusters of flowers and red stems.
Location: Almost every warm location.
Usage/Effect: Stems are eaten to reduce the risk of lung infections after getting ill or swallowing water in airpipe.

Gardenia


Description: White flowers with a pale yellow middle, a sweet scent, and rubbery leaves.

Location: Grown best in warm areas with an average amount of water.

Usage/Effect: Petals may be chewed and applied to wounds to speed up healing time; leaves may be used to carry bundles of other herbs.

Glory Bush

Description: A large bush with gray-green leaves, and lots of purple blossoms.
Location: In dry, humid areas with nutrient-rich soil, and little to no other vegetation.
Usage/Effect: Leaves may be laid over the eyes to help improve eyesight or draw out infection.
Golden Shower Tree

Description: A thin, tall tree with hanging bunches of golden flowers.
Location: Grows well in dry climates with lots of sunlight; blooms only in spring.
Usage/Effect: Seeds from flowers are eaten to sedate a cat for painful procedures.
Hala Tree

Description: Small trees with lots of tangled roots, and spiky, fan-like leaves.
Location: Best grown in sandy or rocky soil and lots of sunlight; often found growing near mangrove trees.
Usage/Effect: Roots can be chewed and laid on pelts to repel fleas.
Heather Nectar

Description: Low bushes with lots of small, bulb-like, violet flowers.
Location: Grown best in shady areas.
Usage/Effect: Consuming flowers with herbs helps make swallowing easier and gives herbs a sweet taste.
Heliconia

Description: Strange, drooping, red and yellow flowers.
Location: Best grown in areas with lots of water, sunlight, and rich soil.
Usage/Effect: Petals are removed from stems, then stems can be chewed on to relieve pain in the gums.
Impatiens

Description: Low bushes with purple, magenta, and white flowers.
Location: Thrives in wet, nutrient dense soil with little sunlight.
Usage/Effect: Petals may be chewed to a pulp and applied to burn wounds to soothe pain and quicken recovery.
Jacaranda Tree

Description: A tree with lots of purple flowers.
Location: Grown best in warm habitats with little to no frost.
Usage/Effect: Bark may be pulled from tree in little pieces and soaked in water, then swallowed whole to help with constipation.
Lantana

Description: Shrub with clusters of brightly colored, purple, orange, pink, and yellow flowers, and serrated leaves.
Location: Grows best in sand or dry soil.
Usage/Effect: Leaves and flowers may be chewed into a pulp together and applied to sore paws to soothe aches.
Lilikoi

Description: A unique purple and blue flower with a red and yellow middle.
Location: Grows well in high sunlight with lots of water.
Usage/Effect: Whole flower is consumed to make a she-cat produce milk.

Hibiscus


Description: Bright flowers that come in many different colors, such as yellow, magenta, orange, red, or, the most common variety, pink.

Location: Best grown in sand, or in earthy, rocky soil.

Usage/Effect: Pollen on the end of the stem is eaten to relieve chest pain or help with breathing problems.

Honeycomb

Description: A hard, crumbly piece of a bee's nest with a sticky, golden substance inside.
Location: Inside bee's nests.
Usage/Effect: Honey can be used to soothe sore or smoke-damaged throats, or it can help make other concoctions easier to swallow.
Ixora

Description: Tall bushes with bunches of bright pink flowers.
Location: Grown best in areas with lots of other vegetation and sunlight.
Usage/Effect: From the tiny golden piece in the middle of the flower, the middle stem may be pulled out, revealing liquid. Liquid is trickled into the ears to heal or reduce risk of infection.
Koa Tree

Description: A gangly tree with little to no leaves.
Location: Grown best in ash-laden soil with little water; mostly found on VolcanoClan's territory.
Usage/Effect: Largest leaves are swen together and used to carry other herbs; branches may be chewed on to help with minor toothaches.
Lavender

Description: Purple-colored flowers.
Location: Grown best in sunny areas with sandy or gravelly soil; mostly found in HorseClan along the side of the house or on the beach in ShoreClan.
Usage/Effect: When eaten, the flowers cure fevers and chills; may also be rubbed on fur to hide the scent of death.
Macadamia Nuts

Description: Green nuts with a creamy brown core.
Location: Grown almost anywhere with moist soil.
Usage/Effect: When cracked open and chewed into a cream, the ointment can be applied to cracked pawpads or skin, then rubbed off to return smoothness.
Mallow

Description: A plant with purple flowers.
Location: Grown best along shores or within water; only found on ShoreClan territory.
Usage/Effect: Petals may be eaten to soothe major bellyaches.
Mangrove Tree

Description: A tree with little leaves and lots of long, tangling roots.
Location: Grown best in a source of water with lots of sunlight; only found on ShoreClan territory.
Usage/Effect: Leaves are rubbed across pelt to force away fleas.

Mock Orange


Description: A tall shrub with small, pale ivory flowers and a sickeningly sweet smell; often mistaken for the orange tree.

Location: Anywhere with lots of other vegetation.

Usage/Effect: Rubbed on pelts to hide the scent of death and strengthen the thickness of fur.

Morning Glory

Description: A bush with purple flowers.
Location: Best grown in any type of soil with lots of sunlight.
Usage/Effect: Flowers may be eaten to soothe pain of contractions during kitting.
Montbretia

Description: Orange flowers with long stems.
Location: A very hardy plant, it may be seen growing anywhere.
Usage/Effect: Flowers and stems may be eaten to heal stomach ulcers.
Night-Blooming Cereus

Description: A cactus with serrated, spikey leaves, and unique white flowers that only grow at night; cats must be careful while gathering due to it's prickly leaves.
Location: Grows best in sunny areas and low-grade soil or sand.
Usage/Effect: Inside of flowers may be eaten to boost resistance to diseases and strengthen immune system.

Noni Tree


Description: A short tree with broad, rubbery leaves.

Location: Grown only in rocky soil with little to no water and lots of heat; found only on VolcanoClan territory.

Usage/Effect: Leaves are used to carry other herbs or water; eating the buds is also thought to give cats a longer lifespan.

Orchid

Description: A beautiful pink or purple and white flower.
Location: Grows best on rocks or in rocky soil.
Usage/Effect: An extremely powerful sedative that can stop a cat's heart-rate if overused; rarely used.
Persian Shield

Description: A plant with purple and green leaves, along with bright red flowers.
Location: Best grown in direct sunlight with high humidity.
Usage/Effect: Flowers can be eaten to stop a queen's milk; leaves can be rubbed on the bottom of pawpads to reduce risk of cracking.
Pink Mandevilla

Description: A vine with bright pink flowers.
Location: Must be grown on a fence or wall for support; mostly found on HorseClan territory.
Usage/Effect: When eaten, the flowers cause contractions during kit birth to stop; only used in emergencies, since it is often known to cause problems with the kits.
Plumeria

Description: A smooth, white, orange, and pink/purple flower.
Location: Grown best in full sunlight and sand with salty water.
Usage/Effect: Flowers may be chewed into a pulp and applied to deep cuts to stop bleeding and stop infections.

Prickly Pear Cactus Flower


Description: A spikey cactus with orange flowers growing from it; cats must be careful while gathering due to the painful spikes.

Location: Best grown in dry soils or sand with little water.

Usage/Effect: Flowers may be eaten to calm nerves, but too many eaten will cause hallucinations.

Queen Emma Lily

Description: White lilies with purple leaves.
Location: Best grown in warm areas with lots of sunlight and water.
Usage/Effect: Leaves may be chewed to a pulp and applied to a she-cat's nipples to ease pain after her kits suckle; most often used after kits have been weaned.
Royal Poinciana Tree

Description: A short tree with bright red-orange blossoms.
Location: Best grown in direct sunlight with lots of water.
Usage/Effect: Flowers may be eaten to kill bacteria in the mouth and freshen breath.
Stick

Description: A strong brown branch from a tree.
Location: On the ground near trees.
Usage/Effect: By being bit into, it will distract cats from pain; often used during kit birth.
Taro

Description: A large, leafy plant with huge, thick roots.
Location: Grown in boggy water; only found on JungleClan territory.
Usage/Effect: Has been said to put a tom into heat when roots are chewed on.
Tuberose

Description: A plant with clusters of small, white flowers.
Location: Grown best in shade with an average amount of water.
Usage/Effect: Flowers can be chewed to a pulp and applied to snakebites to cure poison.
Watermint

Description: A leafy, green plant with a strong stem and pale purple flowers.
Location: Only found in wet soil.
Usage/Effect: Cures stomachaches or any cramps in the stomach.
Oleander

Description: A short tree with lots of pink, white, red, or purple flowers.
Location: Can be found anywhere, even in sand.
Usage/Effect: Flowers can be eaten to relieve sore muscle pain.
Papaya Tree

Description: A tall tree with lots of green/golden fruit.
Location: Does well in warm, dry soil; will die in super wet, cold soil.
Usage/Effect: When seeds of the fruit are eaten, they can ease bowel movements.
Pikake

Description: A bush with soft white flowers.
Location: Anywhere with fertile soil.
Usage/Effect: Flowers may be eaten to induce kit birth; only used in emergencies.
Plumbago

Description: A large bush with tiny clusters of powdery blue flowers.
Location: Anywhere, for it is a hardy plant that requires little care.
Usage/Effect: When a whole bunch of flowers is eaten, they will soothe fevers, thin out phlegm, and help with chills; may also cause cats to sleep.
Poinsettia

Description: A soft shrub with fuzzy, red flowers and green leaves.
Location: Best grown in mildly warm climates and shade with an average amount of water.
Usage/Effect: Flowers have been known to be eaten and soothe anger.
Protea

Description: A small tree with big flowers and lots of leaves.
Location: Does best in low-grade, ashy or dry soils.
Usage/Effect: When leaves are eaten, they will stop heavy bleeding during kit birth.
Ragwort Leaves

Description: A small, leafy plant.
Location: Almost anywhere with lots of water.
Usage/Effect: Chewed to a pulp and applied to joints to relieve swelling and pain.
Red Ginger

Description: A small plant with red flowers.
Location: Grows best in rich, nutrient-dense soil with lots of water.
Usage/Effect: Flowers may be eaten to increase appetite.
Silversword

Description: A spikey silver plant grown at the base of a cactus; only blooms once in it's life before it dies.
Location: Best grown in rocky, dry soils with little to no water.
Usage/Effect: When the leaves are chewed, the foul taste makes a cat throw up anything they have eaten.

Sugarcane


Description: A tall, grassy plant with thick roots.

Location: Thrives in warm conditions and an average amount of water.

Usage/Effect: The sweet substance found within the roots may be eaten to give the cat a boost of energy and strength.

Thyme

Description: A small, delicate herb with a thick stem.
Location: Best grown in hot, sunny locations.
Usage/Effect: Calms nervousness, anxiety and shock.

Turks Cap


Description: A shrub with small, red flowers.

Location: Thrives in full sunlight and moist soil.

Usage/Effect: Flowers are eaten to cure mild coughs and clear out nasal passages.

Wax Vine

Description: A vine with rubbery leaves and small, waxy flowers.
Location: Thrives in moist, humid areas with an average amount of sunlight.
Usage/Effect: Flowers are eaten to cure tight and/or sore muscles.
